Philippines, 12/01/2011, 11:22 AM - the three telecommunications network provider (Globe Telecom, Smart Communication and Sun Cellular) has failed to implement the NTC Order to reduce the interconnection charge for regular texting to other networks. As of the moment of writing this article, they are still charging Php 1 to their subscribers instead of the 80 centavos directive from NTC. The Circular Order was supposed to be effective last November 30, 2011, Wednesday but Telcos refused to lower down their sms rate for regular texting stating that they have already lowered down their interconnection charges ever since because of their unlimited promos. But NTC reiterated that the order is applicable to regular texting and not to the unlimited texting promos of each network provider. NTC will investigate on this matter why telcos refused to implement the circular order.
