Scotty McCreery debuted at the top spot of the Billboard Hot 200 with his post-American Idol album "Clear as Day," with the first week sales of 197,000 copies. The recent sales update (first week of 2012) showed that the album is close to selling a million copies after 14 weeks since release. It also went straight to the top of the Billboard country albums charts.

Alumni Jenifer Hudson, Daughtry, Mandisa and David Cook had albums with more than hundred thousand sales. Aside from McCreery, Lauren Alaina and James Durbin from Season 10 also had album. Lauren released "Wildflower" a week after McCreery's Clear as Day. The compilations of thier performances that were released in Walmart were also successful. McCreery's American Idol highlights nearly sold 200,000 copies.
