The Deciding Battle

If left alone, greed will trump ethics as none wants to spoil the party, bell the cat! We are stoking the fires through our weak attempts and believing that things will sort themselves out in the end. Our failures will take their toll in terms of the suffering of common citizens and the fraying of societal bonding thereby. A life of much promise will be left unfulfilled. It is a sad state when the greed of few sets back the majority’s will and yearnings for a better life for no fault of theirs. Is it how democracy should function? It ends up as more a mockery of the term! As Gandhi said; there is everything to meet our needs but not the greed! It is our bounden duty to change direction so that we don’t blow our chances due to ignoring repeatedly the lessons of history! For every day lost, we pay the price with compound interest. Ethics has to triumph more often and not lie dormant and raise its head only after greed has runs its regular course!
