The Way Forward

We have to bite the bullet at some point in time, unless we believe that the Mayan calendar will work through to its predicted conclusion! Either we have less than a year to go, or some outside help will come from the heavens to rescue humanity and release us from all ills! But what price we would have to pay for such deliverance? We have hope and fear in us; but when all are in the same boat, does it matter? However, if December 22 dawns with life as it is; then, we have to pick up the pieces to rebuild and get ready for the long haul, all by ourselves! It could well prove a rude awakening to be again left to our own devises!

The financial crisis is an offshoot of a deeper moral decay that could test unity across societies and countries. The factors that have united countries can unravel unless the issues are addressed. As it happens every time, the most affected would again be those at the bottom of the heap, for no fault of theirs. We need to move away from the theater of the absurd and comic heroes, towards solid action to face issues head-on! We have pushed our luck to breaking point already, and could well be living on borrowed time!
